Micael Gelius, Piano

appeared as soloist with the Munich Symphony Orchestra even before embarking upon his studies.

He studied in Munich and Würzburg in the classes of Claude-France Journès and Margarita Höhenrieder. A scholarship from the International Society for Chamber Music complemented his studies.

In 1986 he won the Mozart Prize at the 3. International Competition of Lied with the soprano Anna Moser.

An extensive concert career followed as soloist, chamber music partner and song accompanist in Europe, Asia and America with appearances at prestigious music festivals such as the Music Festival in Beijing.

His playing is documented by numerous recordings for radio, television and CDs.

Since November 2003 Micael Gelius teaches piano at Augsburg University and is a regular jury member for piano competitions.
