Andreas Heinig, Violoncello

The Berlin-born cellist unites emotional depth, clarity, and refined sensitivity in his playing. Critics from the Süddeutsche Zeitung and SWR have described his artistry as: “Pure music – following without suspicion the exuberance of one’s own emotions… concert intensity and chamber-music filigree.”

A multiple prizewinner of the Jugend musiziert competition and former recipient of scholarships from various foundations, Andreas Heinig pursues an international career as a soloist, principal cellist, and chamber musician.

Since 1999 he has been a founding member of the Wolf-Ferrari Ensemble Berlin, and since 2025 he has served as cellist of the Gelius Trio.

His concert tours have taken him throughout the entire German-speaking world as well as to France, Italy, Finland, Russia, Slovenia, and Switzerland. Several contemporary works have been dedicated to him.

In addition to his concert activity, Andreas Heinig works as an editor of music editions for Peters Edition and for his own publishing house, heinig moments. He is also active as a developer of patented fine-tuning sound devices for the violoncello.
